OpenCircle’s Financial Support for Apprenticeship Training

Did you know that OpenCircle offers a Tuition Refund Program? The program reimburses tuition fees for Hour Bank employees of Member companies who successfully complete their apprenticeship training and then return to work for an OpenCircle Member company (if applicable in your province).

Balancing work and studies at the same time can be stressful. Adding financial worry to the mix, individuals could easily feel overwhelmed.  With the Tuition Refund Program, OpenCircle is helping to lessen that load.

To better understand the program, here are a few Q & A’s:

Q: Who can apply for the Tuition Refund Program?

A: The Program is available to OpenCircle Member employees in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, and Saskatchewan.

Q: Does the individual have to wait until they have worked 150 hours before submitting the claim?
A: No, they can send the form and documents in before they reach 150 hours but must follow up with documentation to show they have worked 150 hours.

Q: Is there a time limit to send in the claim form?
A: Yes. We must receive the claim form, supporting documents and have worked for 150 hours with an OpenCircle company, within six months of the completion date on the Proof of Completion form.

Q: How long does the claim process take?
A: Our process takes approximately six to eight weeks to complete.
